2009 SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS

During the 8th Annual Community Sustainability Conference & Expo, Fort Carson will present the 2009 Sustainability Awards to recognize individuals, groups, and organizations demonstrating exemplary sustainability performance. Please nominate individuals, organizations, and/or groups that deserve recognition for their efforts to further Fort Carson’s Sustainability Goals during 2009. Fort Carson’s Sustainability Team will select one individual or organization from the community, AND one individual, unit, or directorate from Fort Carson for each award (as indicated). The Sustainability Team will select awardees at their discretion. Military representatives include uniformed Service Members, Department of Defense Civilians, and contractor personnel working on Fort Carson. Winners will be announced during the military track at the conference and will be posted on the Fort Carson Sustainability and Environmental Management System (SEMS) website (http://sems.carson.army.mil).

You may nominate as many individuals or organizations as you wish. However, please select the most relevant award for each nominated individual and organization, avoiding duplicate entries. Write a separate, one-page (maximum) commentary highlighting the accomplishments of your nominee(s) during the past year and justification regarding why they deserve recognition. Include your contact information below and your nominees’ information in the appropriate boxes. An incomplete entry may result in a disqualification of the nominee(s). Please complete your award nomination(s) by filling out the desired forms, saving this document and send it as an email attachment to the address below. Award 1 – Sustainable Progress through Partnerships: Partnerships that support Fort Carson’s or the Region’s sustainability goals

Award 2 – Sustainability Champion: Individual or organization that is passionate about furthering sustainability goals on Fort Carson or within the community

Award 3 – Excellence in Sustainable Resources: Individual or organization that is committed to conserving resources on Fort Carson

Award 4 – Achievement in Sustainable Development: Individual or organization that has promoted sustainable development actions on Fort Carson or in the community

Award 5 – Superior Sustainable Leader: A leader on Fort Carson or within the community that has furthered sustainability goals through his/her actions
